Stuck for Suhoor

Check out some ideas for your suhoor.

1 Eating dates – specifically 3

A sunnah food of course but also rich in natural sugar which is great for brain and nerve cells.

2 Water

Always make sure to drink water with your Suhoor to help avoid dehydration whilst fasting

3 Oatmeal

A great source of protein, carbohydrates and fibre and it also helps slow down the release of energy and keeps you full for longer.

You could also try overnight oats that require zero brain power at 4am.  SImply prepare the night before and eat straight out of the fridge.

4 Watermelon

Not only is this low on calories but it is also an excellent energy booster.   With a high water content, it is sure to keep you hydrated during the day.

5 Yoghurt

This gives your body the energy it needs during fasting by keeping you hydrated throughout the day. It also rids your body of excessive sodium as it contains high amounts of potassium.  Many people add this to their cereals or oats, whereas others may have it alongside their choice of bread.

6 Eggs

With so many options, boiled, fried, scrambled…in a cake.  It is a source of protein and vitamins as well as making you stay fuller for longer.
