Eid Salah Across the UK

EID 2022

After 2 years of Covid, Muslims across the UK prayed Eid Salah marking the end of Ramadan, Alhamdulillah!

The multitude of crowds came out in eagerness to pray and enjoy the festivities of the day. Young, old, families big and small, Muslims from different backgrounds joined together and made Eid 2022 one to remember.

The BIGGEST Eid Salah in the UK, took place in London. The Salah was led by Mufti Menk with over 35,000 people in the congregation, Subhan’Allah!

Blackburn Rovers was the first football club in the UK to host Eid prayers at their stadium, with over two thousand attendees. Public transportation was also provided for anyone who wanted to avoid taking their cars, as well as a provision of refreshments by the Catering Company.  The Salah was led by Sheikh Wasim Kempson, who then invited Rovers’ Chief Executive Steve Waggott and the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Cllr Derek Hardman, to address the guests.

Platt Fields Park, Manchester, held the biggest congregation in the North West. The Eid Salah was organised by Makki Masjid and Al Furqan.  It was estimated between 15,000 to 20,000 people attended.

More than 20,000 people gathered in Birmingham to celebrate Eid.

Saleem Ahmed, project manager for Eid in the Park, commented, “Eid is a joyous occasion, where Muslims come together to celebrate, spend time with family and worship as a community.”

Hundreds of Muslims celebrated Eid Al Fitr in Leicester in Victoria Park.

Naeem Mohammed, Eid Festival joint manager, said, “Finally after the pandemic it feels like we are almost back to normal…It’s been a tough two years.”

It has most certainly been a memorable Eid 2022!

Here’s to Eid Al Adha!
